Herb joined the department in 1964 and remained very active throughout his 57 year career with the D.V.F.D., in which he proudly held numerous positions to include but not limited to President and Fire Police Captain. It should also be noted that he served with the Bethany Beach Police Department from 1970-1994 where he served as Chief of Police from 1973 until his retirement in 1994.
