Assist Millsboro with a Structure Fire - Sussex Alley
Thursday, July 2, 2015
The Dagsboro VFD was called to assist the Millsboro VFC with a structure fire. Crews arrived to find a single story ranch house well off. We were saddened to learn that this house was one of our own in the fire service. Tyler and Amber Bare were at Millsboro VFC and responded to find their own house on fire. No one was home at the time of the fire, including their two young children and another firefighter who lived in a side room of the house. An aggressive attack was made on the fire, but crews were not able to save the family's pets.
We are humbled and realize that even firefighters are not immune to the dangers of fire.
Tyler is a returning Marine who served in Afghanistan and Amber is an EMT who responds to help people. As we head into this holiday season, we remember our brother and sister firefighters as they recover from this large setback. If anyone would like to donate, a Go Fund Me account has been set up at http://www.gofundme.com/hhszg4
The Good 'Ole Boy foundation is also collecting non-perishable items and gift cards for the family.
Other crews that responded to assist Millsboro were Indian River, Frankford, Gumboro, Sussex County EMS, and the Fire Marshal's Office. No injuries resulted from the fire.
