Vehicle into a Structure - NorthStar HVAC - Vines Creek Rd

The DVFD was alerted for a MVC with a vehicle reported into a structure at NorthStar HVAC on Vines Creek Rd on 29 May 2009. Engine 2 arrived under the command of Captain J. Marvel to find the scene as reported, with a single vehicle that had penetrated a concrete wall. Crews began patient care & a rapid extrication took place. Rescue Company 73 arrived under Lt. C. Hudson & assigned to asses the building integrity. The Sussex County Technical Rescue Team was requested to assist in shoring the wall prior to removing the vehicle. Crews operated for approx. 5 hrs. before returning to service. Traffic was rerouted as Vines Creek Rd was closed during the incident, by DELDOT.
