Engine 1 arrives 1st due on Frankford Box - 28890 Catmans Rd

The DVFD was alert on a box assignment at the given address ion Frankford. Engine 731 with a crew of (5) five hit the street under the command of Asst. Chief C. Dorey, with in (1) one minute of the dispatch. Command 76 arrived with Chief T. Bacon & advised he had a detached garage well off with extension into the woods & exposures to a 2 1/2 story single family. Engine 1 arrived laying in from the street & stretched both a 1 3/4" & a 2" line providing both fire attack & exposure protection. Additional crews from Frankford, Dagsboro, Selbyville & Millville arrived & were assigned as needed. Tanker 73 was set up for water supply as various engine companies shuttling water. Rescue Company 73 arrived as the first due special service & was utilized for SCBA refill, while it crew was assigned to assist with suppression & overhaul. Brush 73 was assigned to assist with the extension into the woods. Crews from Millsboro & Roxana provided transfers. A job well done to all companies operating. With temperatures in the low 90's, no hydrants & heavy fire on arrival crews were able to know the baulk of the fire with in minutes. Great job by all. Units were held for approx. 3 hrs before picking up & going in service.
