Brush Fire - Molly Field Rd w/o DuPont Blvd
Monday, June 8, 2015
At 11:52 the DVFD was alerted to a reported brush fire at the intersection of Gum Tree Rd & Mollyfield Rd. Brush 730 marked on the air under the command of Lt. C. Hudson with a crew of 3 at 11:56. Upon turning onto Gum Tree Rd it was obvious that units were coming in on the wrong end of the road, due to a large column of smoke showing to the east. EOC was advised of the correct location & to have all other units utilize DuPont Blvd to Molly Field Rd. Brush 730 & Engine/Tanker 73 arrived to find a 40x100 area of brush on fire under high tension power lines. Lt. C. Hudson established Molly Field Rd IC and order crews to stretch lines to contain the fire. Crews from Brush 730 & Engine/Tanker 73 knocked the fire quickly. Engines 731 & 736 arrived to assist with mop up. Crews operated for approx. 20 mins before returning to service.
