The DVFD held their Annual Awards Banquet at the Millsboro Firehouse Banquet Hall. The night began with a Social Hour starting at 17:30 with dinner served at 18:30. Dinner was followed by a video presentation of the DVFD in action over the past year. The Awards Ceremony began at 20:00 with the following members being recognized; Firefighter of the Year - Bill Baker Line Officer of the Year - Lt. John Marvel EMS Responder of the Year - Captain Donald Mulholland Fire Police of the Year: Norman Anderson Training Award - Megan Hudson Top Fire/Rescue Responders - Bill Baker, Deputy Chief Todd McCabe, Lt. John Marvel, Megan Hudson, Chief Engineer Jerry Layton, Shane Furbush Auxiliary Member of the Year - Judy Baker President's Award - Chief Engineer Jerry Layton Chief's Award - Chief Engineer Jerry Layton Chief Engineer's Award - Bill Baker EMS Captain's Award - Lt. Jill Brittingham DVFD Dedication Award - Gary Cox The night was finished with dancing and a great time was had by all.
