At 23:20 the Sussex EOC transmitted a box assignment to the DVFD along with the Frankford VFC & SCEMS 105 for a house fire. Engine 731 with a crew of (5) five under the command of Capt. Blades was first to respond and advised by on scene fire police this was a working alarm. Engine 731 arrived to find a 1 story wood frame residence with smoke showing on sides "A" & "D". Engine 1's crew advanced a 1 3/4" smoothbore through the front door into the garage and began suppression efforts. Engine/Tanker 73 arrived and secured the water supply. Millville was alerted for the RIT and transfers were handled by the Selbyville & Millsboro VFC's. Crews brought the fire under control in approx. 15 min with extensive overhaul. The baulk of the fire was held to the garage and attic area. Final DVFD crews cleared at 02:48. Capt. Blades had the Helms Landing command & Chief Glenn had the Operations. No injuries were reported & the cause is being investigated by the DSFMO.
