Ernesto Keeps the DVFD Busy - Dagsboro
Monday, June 8, 2015
While Tropical Storm Ernesto approached the Delmarva Peninsula the DVFD began preparing for its arrival. At approx. 14:30 the DVFD ran the first of 18 calls for service. With most of the calls being electrical hazards, downs utilities & trees crews were kept busy going from call to call until approx. 01:30. A staffing of 20+ members manning the Rescue Company, an Engine Company & Brush & Utility, were on hand during the height of the storm to cover the calls. Thanks to the dedication of these members all the call were handled in timely manner. Deputy Glenn had the storm operations from the station, with Rescue Captain Hudson, Lieutenant McGee & Rescue Lieutenant Marvel handling the incidents.
