Assist Seaford & Blades - Flash Flood - West Side of the County

At 09:10 the DVFD was alerted to assist the Seaford VFD with rescue efforts after the area was hit with over 9"+ of rainfall in less then 3hrs. Brush 730 w/ Marine 73 responded at 09:15 with a crew of (3) three under the command of Rescue Lt. Marvel and advised to stage at the Seaford fire station. Soon after arriving at staging they were assigned to assist with evacuation efforts in the Blades area. At 12:44 the DVFD was alerted for the Rescue Company to respond to the area. Rescue 73 responded with a crew of (7) under the command of Deputy Chief Glenn and to report to the staging area at Seaford fire station. While operating in Seaford the Rescue Company responded to (5) calls and various other assignments. The Marine unit operating in the Blades area assisted in evacuating over 300+ residence of low lying areas & various sub-divisions. While these crews were operating on the west side of the county the DVFD Volunteers maintained additional crews in Dagsboro running (2) additional calls in Dagsboro, a MVC and Medical Assist. Rescue 73 cleared the Seaford Area returning at 19:05, with all DVFD units in quarters at 20:00. See Audio/Video section for response video.
