Several members of the DVFD tried capturing the goat in the Waples St area. Members were soon joined by Dagsboro PD, as the capture intensified the goat seemed to have eluded his pursuers, until Rescue Capt. Hudson & DPD Chief Dudley noticed the traffic on Main St. had slowed to a crawl. When they went to investigate they encountered a large traffic back up. It was soon determined that this was the cause of "Billy" as he was affectionly named by now. With a crowd gathering Hudson & Dudley began canvassing the rear of the houses, when a loud bang was heard. When they arrived "Billy" had seen his reflection and had begun ramming a residences rear glass door. After a brief foot chase "Billy" was corner on Sussex St. and apprehended with out incident, although the large black lab that was in the yard took offence and soon cleared everyone, including "Billy" from his yard. Billy was picked up by Sussex County Animal Control at the DVFD were he enjoyed lounging under Engine 2 before being taken away. If anyone knows the owners of "Billy" please contact the Sussex County SPCA.
