MVC w/ Ejection & Rescue - DuPont Blvd. & Nine Foot Rd.

At 0851 hrs. Sussex EOC alerted the Dagsboro VFD along with Frankford VFD EMS for a reported minor MVC at the intersection of Dupont Blvd. & Nine Foot Rd. Asst. Chief McCabe responded by POV to the scene, and was advised the reporting caller advised minor injuries. Upon arrival of Asst. Chief McCabe he advised Sussex EOC he had a 2 vehicle MVC with 1 vehicle roll-over with the driver ejected & 1 subjected trapped in the 2nd vehicle and immediately requested DSP aviation along with ground based ALS. Engine 732 marked on the air under the command of Captain Townsend at 0855 hrs. and was advised by command upon arrival to prepare for extrication operations and he would be extrication officer. Sussex EOC dispatched DSP Trooper II, Medic 103 & EMS 100 at 0855 hrs to assist on the call. Upon the arrival of Engine 732 Captain Townsend was placed as extrication officer and began a size up of the extraction of the patient. Amb. A-76 arrived and began patient assessment of the subject that was ejected as well as the pinned driver. Rescue Co. 73 arrived on location and was set-up to assist the crew of Engine 732 with extraction operations. Medic 103 arrived and confirmed commands earlier decision to fly the ejected patient. Command also made a request fort all available fire police to respond and shut down both North & South bound lanes as well as all cross traffic from east & West bound Nine Foot Rd. Upon removal of the driver side door the patient of the #2 vehicle was able to be removed and Amb. B-76 began patient care. Command placed the incident under control at 0921 hrs. holding units. All units were available & returning at 0938 hrs. Delaware State Police is investigating.
