On Tuesday April 2, 2002 at 1400 hrs. a box assignment was struck for a reported working house fire at #87 Hub Court. Units from the Millsboro, Dagsboro, & Gumboro fire departments filled the assignment at 1404 hrs. and were advised PD was on location reporting heavy fire & smoke showing. Engine 831 was the first engine company to arrive followed closely by Engine 731. Both engine crews were met with a large volume of fire that quickly spread through out the house. Ladder 83 arrived and was set-up for ventilation & master stream operations, while Engine 732 was assigned to find a hydrant and establish water supply. Engine 732 deployed 750' off 5" LDH for the supply to Ladder 83. Rescue Company 73 arrived on location and set-up for rehab and assisted with ventilation. Crews brought the blaze under control at 1515 hrs. with units remaining on scene for salvage & overhaul until 1604 hrs. A cause has yet to be determined by DSFMO.
