DVFD doubles to Selbyville Building Fire - J. Wilgus Cleaners - Selbyville

At 04:42 the Selbyville VFC was alerted for a building fire at J. Wilgus Cleaners on Hosier St. By 04:53 the DVFD was on the street, originally sent to cover Frankfords first due, but before crews clears their own first due were reassigned to the scene. Engine 732 & Engine/Tanker 73 responded on the call with a combined staffing of 12. Crews arrived and assisted in suspension efforts along with over 12 other area departments. At 08:40 Engine/Tanker was released and Engine 732 was reassigned as the cover piece for Selbyville. Engine 732 was again recalled to the scene, from their cover assignment to assist with overhaul & hot spot management. At 11:16 a special call from IC brought the Rescue Co. out of the DVFD to assist with breaching a collapsed section of the structure to get to a area that was still smoldering. By this point the Sussex County Technical Rescue Team was also on scene assisting with structural collapse. After nearly (9) nine hrs, the crews of Engine 732, along with the Rescue Co. were returned to service at 12:28. A total of 32 volunteers from the DVFD answered the call.
