Millville Engine 844, Running out of the DVFD - DVFD
Monday, June 8, 2015
Yes folks it is sad to say, but the day has come when Dagsboro has something other than a SUTPHEN. With our first due engine being sent out for refurbishing Dagsboro now has an American Eagle operating out of its house. All jokes aside, the refurbishing of our Engine 731 would not be possible with out the gracious aid of our fellow brothers and sisters from the Millville Volunteer Fire Company. It is only through the lending of Engine 844 from Millville that makes the 6 month refurbishing job possible. Engine 731 has been the work horse of the DVFC since it was bought new in 1983, it has been our 1st run engine company since that time and has never let the department down. Engine 731 has never had to be listed out of service for an extended period of time for any manufacturer related failures, it has on the other hand had to have several battle scars corrected. During the refurbishing the entire electrical system is being checked and upgraded, a front trash line & generator are being added, emergency lighting upgrade, new paint scheme, other minor improvements. The officers & members of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company would like to thank the Millville Volunteer Fire Company for their lending of Engine 844.
