MVC Pins 3 - DuPont Blvd & Clayton St.

While the Rescue Company was attending the Funeral for Chief Wix, on Thursday 22 January 04, EOC transmitted a MVC with rescue at the intersection of Clayton St. & DuPont Blvd. Alerted on the call were Dagsboro, Frankford EMS, Rescue/Engine 763, SCEMS Medic 103, SCEMS Admin., & DSP Trooper II. Deputy 73, McCabe, was in the area and responding at 11:29 & given the report of a (2) two vehicle MVC with confirmed entrapment in both vehicles. Engine 732 was enroute at 11:34 under the command of Asst. Chief Furbush, as Deputy McCabe was arriving. Deputy McCabe established IC and advised as reported with at least (2) two priority 1 trauma patients in separate vehicles, & 3 subjects pinned. IC advised E-732 upon arrival to stabilize both vehicles & begin extrication on the van. Amb. A-76 & B-73 arrived and began patient care on both priority 1 patients. Rescue/Engine 763 under the command of FVFD Chief Warton and tasked with extrication on the second priority 1 patient in the S-10 pick-up. At this time IC requested an additional EMS unit & advised both north & south bound lanes of DuPont Blvd. were closed. Utility 7310 arrived and assisted with patient care and established an LZ for Trooper II. All patients were extricated at 11:56 and packaged. Trooper II transported the driver of the van (priority 1 trauma alert) to PRMC, while Amb. A-76 transported the driver of the S-10 pick-up along with SCEMS ALS , to BMC. the third patient was transported by Amb. B-83 to BMC as well, with SCEMS onboard. IC placed it incident under control holding units at 11:58 reopening DuPont Blvd. All units were placed in service at 12:09 turning the scene over to Dagsboro PD & DSP.
