Local Assignment Upgraded to Box - Iron Branch Rd.

On Saturday 03 April 04 at 13:01 the Dagsboro VFD was alerted on a local assignment for a reported dryer fire in a single family dwelling on Iron branch Rd. e/o New St. Engine 732 with Chief 73 were on the street at 13:02 with a crew of 8. Engine 732 arrived at 13:03 and Chief Glenn established IC with nothing evident from the exterior. A crew entered the residence and encounter a fire in the dryer with poss. extension & hvy. smoke through out the residence. With this information IC advised Sussex EOC they had a working fire. At 13:05 Sussex EOC upgraded the alarm to a full box assignment, re-alerting the Dagsboro VFD and alerting the Millsboro VFD and SCEMS Medic 103. Engine 731 (844) arrived and set up to supply Engine 732. The interior crew (Capt. J. Glenn & FF C. Dorey) knocked the fire in the dryer using a can while a second crew stretched the line in. Rescue Co. 73 & Engine 736 arrived and sent their crews to the manpower pool. Engine 831 staged & was ordered to hold their manpower on the apparatus. After smoke removal & overhaul IC placed the incident under control holding Engine 732 & Rescue Co. 73, all other units were placed available at 13:25. Final crew cleared at 13:31 and all units were ready for service at 13:42. Units operating on Scene: Engine 731 (844), Engine 732, Engine 736, Engine 832, Rescue Co. 73, Amb.
