July 4th Celebration in Dagsboro draws over 30,000 - Dagsboro Church of God

On July 4th crews from the Dagsboro, Frankford, Millsboro, Gumboro & Sussex County Emergency Medical Services provided Fire & Medical coverage for the 8th Annual "Celebration of Our Nation" at the Dagsboro Church of God. Starting at 11:00 until approx. 23:00 crews were on had along with the Dagsboro & Millsboro Police Departments standing by in the 95+ degree temperatures with heat indices in the 105 range. Also on hand providing traffic control on the busy Dupont Blvd. were 11 Fire Police officers from several companies through out Sussex county. The day was filled with live bands, numerous food & drink vendors, amusement rides, & other displays leading up to the evening events. Starting at 19:30 the evening events were kicked off with a C-5A Galaxy fly over (pictured above) from the Dover Air Force Base. A live musical production put on the the members of the Church of God, honored the branches of the armed forces that concluded with the honoring of the members of the Emergency Services community (pictured above). Concluding the musical production was a 40 min. fireworks show. The days event went with out any major problems, other then several heat related illnesses. Approx. 40 "VOLUNTEER" fire, rescue, & EMS members were on hand providing coverage.
