LP Gas Leak - Suburban Propane, DuPont Blvd

The Sussex EOC transmitted a box assignment to the Millsboro & Dagsboro VFD's on Wednesday, 21 January 04 at 18:59 for a reported gas leak at the Suburban Propane baulk storage plant on DuPont Blvd. south of Millsboro 18:54. Chief 83, Wooten arrived monuments after dispatch and advised he had a very strong odor of LP gas and he had IC. Engine 732 just returning to quarters after a run was out under the command if Asst. Chief Furbush and advised by IC to report to the main entrance an prepare to force entry. Engine 732 arrived and forced entry to the chain link gate and began to investigate. Engine 831 out next was ordered to the hydrant at the main entrance. Engine 732's crew located a broken valve on one of the 10,000 pound tanks. Engine 731 (844) arrived along with Engine 832 both were ordered to stage down wind on DuPont Blvd. E-732's crew located and isolation valve and secured the leak. IC placed the incident under control at 19:29, releasing all units. Units operating on Scene: Engine 831, Engine 832, Ladder 83, Rescue Co. 83, Engine 731 (844), Engine 732, Rescue Co. 73, Amb.
