On Thursday 16 September at the annual State Fire Chiefs Meeting during the Delaware State Fireman's Association Conference DVFD life member Ellison Bunting was awarded the "Heroic Firefighter of the year" award for the state of Delaware. Life member Bunting earned this award for his actions on 05 February 2004 when he observed smoke & fire from the 2nd floor of a Dagsboro area home. Life Member Bunting entered the residence prior to FD arrival and brought a 16 yo female to safety. Congratulations Ellison from your brothers & sisters of the DVFD.
