Structure Fire on Tubbs Lane
On Tuesday January 5th at 4:46 pm the Dagsboro VFD was alerted for a fire nature unknown on Tubbs Lane, shortly after dispatch Utility 73-12 went responding under the command of Assistant Chief D.Betts and was advised from the EOC that the alarm was being upgraded to a working structure fire adding Frankford and Millsboro fire departments to the box. Upon arrival of Assistant Chief Betts he confirmed reports that it was a working structure fire with smoke showing from the eaves of a single story residence and established the command. Minutes after dispatch Engine 73-1 went responding under command of Deputy Chief J.Marvel with a staffing of 5. Upon arrival of 73-1 the crew laid a 5" supply line from the roadway for Tanker 73 to pick up on arrival, then stretched an 1 3/4" handline into the residence and began fire suppression in the attic of the residence. Upon the arrival of Engine 76-2 their crew placed a 2nd handline in service and also assisted with suppression with fire that had extended to the exterior of the residence. All other crews from Frankford and Millsboro assisted with checking for extension throughout the residence and overhaul. The incident was placed under control at 5:16 pm, crews worked for approximately 2 hours and 47 minutes from time of dispatch before clearing the scene at 6:21 pm.
